COURSE INTRODUCTION

WELCOME to Design/CAD 2 - Semester 2.                                  This Semester, Design and Presentation is the main emphasis.      You will be applying the information and concepts you learned in Semester 1, Design, Site Analysis and Structural Engineering, to the design of a project on a sloping site w/imposed design and building restrictions, existing sun orientation and other natural characteristics of the surrounding area. Your project will be designed and presented in class in the form of graphic and oral presentations. In addition to deepening your understanding of design, you will explore various graphic and rendering techniques and methods for presenting your design proposals to clients.

As a result of the Covid-19 restrictions, how humans live and work was changed temporarily, and in some cases, permanently.      Post Covid living for many people, now means they are able to work from home or virtually, anywhere. Design-wise, this means that more and more Built Environments will include spaces for permanent or temporary work scenarios. Your project must include accommodations for some type of live-work arrangement.
