UNIT 6 - PRESENTATION DRAWINGS

Once you have designed your plans and elevations, and sections if needed to convey your design and have reached the point where it can be presented to your client, Presentation Drawings are created and rendered to illustrate the major intent of your design proposal for their project.

Presentations could be considered the most important phase of the design process as it is the quality and clarity of your unique presentation that may or may not land you the contract for the project or sell your idea to a client or developer, which could result in not receiving thousands in potential income, the references and exposure that comes with your designed project being selected or accepted, and built.

It is crucial that your presentation illustrate and describe the essence of the project in a simple graphic form. In addition to the importance of a graphic or visual presentation of some type, is the importance to present your project in a clear, intentional, brief, descriptive oral format. In some cases,

ASSIGNMENT 1- Create a freehand sketched preliminary presentation layout of your project as you see fit in the format you intend to use for your final presentation.
The contents should include the following at minimum
Site Plan, Floor Plans, Elevations, Building Section, Details and/or 'special' design elements and a written statement.

ASSIGNMENT - Create a preliminary drafted presentation layout of your project as you see fit in the format you intend to use for your final presentation.
The contents should include at minimum, the Site Plan, Floor Plans, Elevations, Building Section, Details and/or 'special' design elements that may require additional drawings such as a 3d rendering highlighting an aspect or feature of your design and a preliminary written statement of your project and necessary data or specifications.

ASSIGNMENT 3 - Create a final presentation layout of your project in the format and media you've chosen to use.
The contents should include at minimum, the Site Plan, Floor Plans, Elevations, Building Section, Details and/or 'special' design elements that may require additional drawings such as a 3d rendering highlighting an aspect or feature of your design and a preliminary written statement of your project and necessary data or specifications.

ASSIGNMENT 4 - Final Graphic and Oral Presentation.
You will create a final graphic presentation in your choice of medium to best illustrate your ideas and intent of your project. This will also include presenting it orally to classmates and industry professionals who will be asking questions and critiquing your design solution. You will need to be able to explain the purpose of your project, it's concept and how and why it was designed the way it is.
